ep: montgomery - storyboards & sketches

compiled here are some more of my Montgomery sketches, trying to work out what I want him to look like, and the colours that I want him to be, (like what breed of cat). 

also some storyboards and ideas for the story of the book, which will be around 24 pages. one page to say what he hates, and one page to say what he prefers instead.

ep: my character - montgomery

i have been thinking of ideas for a childrens book, trying to create a character which incorporates my style and is funny and relatable. for my inspiration, i actually looked towards my dissertation work. my dissertation was about cats, therefore i created a cat character who was grumpy and it helped me to work on my facial expressions. here he is:

i really love this fat annoyed character and think that he would be such a perfect character for a children's book as they would find his disgusted faces hilarious and relatable. i decided to do more sketches of this character to see if i could conjure up some different designs and explore his character and what he looks like.

I decided to call him Montgomery :-).

ep: drawing my friends - side project

I decided to test myself a little bit and create a little project for myself where I turn my friends into characters. I wanted to do this as I am still very much interested in character design and I want to see how I do with turning real life people into characters, capturing their personality, clothing etc.

ep: network rail updates

over christmas break i recieved an email stating that the artwork was to be put up soon, however after not hearing from them for a while, i recieved this email today stating that it has been delayed until the end of this month. that's fine by me i'm just so excited i can hardly wait!
