vis com: artists who work with shape
Nina Geometrieva is an artist that i found on behance. she has really simple work but i really like how she uses shape to create different things and also shows us how just simply moving some shapes around a bit can create different outcomes. and even though the duck is just 3 shapes i can really tell what it is and how she did it.
Wijtze Valkema is another artist who uses and utilizes shape. even though his designs seem simple at first, they are really charming. i like that he keeps his colour palettes simple as well as his shapes because it gives of a perfect and finished touch instead of being too overdone or too colourful. his designs can be seen in magazines where he utilizes the space that is given to him in an interesting way.
Yeka Haski is an illustrator who uses shape in a different way. not necessarily using vector or digitial, but handrawn shapes with texture. i really like the simpleness and cuteness of her designs. even though the shapes are simple we can connect with them and they have emotions even if they only have eyes, it's a sign of an amazing illustrator.
another artist i have been looking at is Sebastian Iwohn who works with very simplistic perfect shapes. i really like how his artwork is so simple but it still says something. for example the beach one, it is almost as if he is saying that we would replace the sun with wifi if we could, sharing how he thinks the world is corrupted with technology. he made me feel all that by just adding three curved lines above a circle on a blue background. shape is cool.
the last one i'm going to show before you think god when will she stop is Tim Bradford who is an amazing shape illustrator. his designs are so detailed and beautiful to look at but there is no linework involed, it is all shape. i'd love to be able to capture something as detailed and lovely as this but i also have to think of the deadline of my brief and if i could do it in time.
